Snopes is an unreliable source. Though the page is gone now, during the election the webmaster hosted a page which claimed that McCain had stated that Obama was an "uppity ". The site claimed this to be true. A few days after it was posted, the page vanished with a rather rushed apology claiming that their information was wrong and that they had acted erroneously. In the end, you can trust Snopes about as much as wikipedia.
